![]() Hi, this is Mary Jo and I'm your designer. I graduated from Louisiana State University and have been working in the industry ever since. Again, your space is such a wonderful little room! We love that you have interesting qualities, like brick flooring and a bay window, that are great to have in any room. Lots of good bones! However, we understand that since it's an older home, it can be hard to arrange everything in the space and still feel like you can move around. We hope that with these next suggestions you will be have a much better idea of how to organize the space and incorporate all your neat treasures from around the world. First, we wanted to give you the seating that you talked about. You picked out a few sofas, and we all narrowed it down to the Blake Sectional. It's simple with clean lines, but also gives you the seating you want. Due to the size of the room we thought the best place to put it was against the wall with the alcove. However, that means that the alcove becomes almost dead space. If this bothers you, by all means look for a sofa that is shorter that would fit into that niche. We think that it looks fine and that we disguised the gap, but it's up to you. For another seating option, we put a chair in the corner that coordinates with the sofa and gives you a little place to read in case you want something next to the window to sit in. Typically, we love patterned chairs, but in this small space coordinating pieces give the room a feeling of calm. Next, we tackled the placement of the chest and media console. The media console we selected has glass doors to allow you to use the remote without interference. We also thought the wood tone was complimentary to the room. |
