Hi, this is Mary Jo and I'm your designer. I graduated from Louisiana State University with an interior design degree and have been working in the industry ever since.

Your room is huge! With your hardwood floors, fireplace and ample open space this is such a great room with many options. We also know that it can be hard to make it seem comfy and lived in because there is so much space. Our hope is that this will give you the answers to make it amazing and become all that you want it to be.

To start, we added two different seating options to finish off the room and take up the dead places. These seating options still preserve the open feeling but also add that coziness you want. First, we put a love seat next to the sofa in the first seating area. This is the best spot for it since the fireplace is so close. This way, your neat wicker chair can remain where it is to break up the symmetry. We also added a coffee table that was a rustic bench to complete the seating area. We used your small round table in between the two sofas and left your painted trunk where it was. Per your request, we also added a large sisal rug that will pick up the color of the hard woods and great a defined seating area- breaking up the space visually helps make it feel more comfy and intimate instead of large and sparse.
